What is a Volcano?

A volcano is a mountain that has vents, holes, and craters and when the volcano erupts, lava, ash, cinders, dust, and hot gas pours out of it.


*Magma (when it's deep in the ground) or lava (when it reaches the earth's surface) is very hot, liquid rock.   When it hardens it turns to rock.
